Hi Faith, it's John + Gisele, reporting back from Pittsburgh's 50th Pride celebration this weekend.
Yinz, we *seriously* love Pride! 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
According to our staff, the hardest job in politics is keeping us two moving through a parade. 🙈
We have more to say, but first — please join us in celebrating + supporting LGBTQIA+ Americans by signing our petition in support of the Equality Act. It will only take a second! ❤️

We can't take any progress for granted, Faith. Case in point: back in 2013, when John was still the Mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania still banned same-sex marriage.
We were not going to stand on the wrong side of history. Which is why John was proud to be the first elected official in western PA to officiate a same-sex wedding.
After 11 years of commitment to each other, right there in our living room, surrounded by loved ones, John officiated the wedding of John Kandry + Bill Gray.
It was one of the proudest moments of my career, and I promised I would keep marrying these couples until the law changed. —J
After all, John + I were able to get married 14 years ago *today* without having to wait even close to 11 years! —G
But there is so much more to be done in the fight for equality, Faith.
Congress still has not found a way to pass the Equality Act into law, ensuring rights and protections for LGBTQIA+ folks across our country. Until we pass the Equality Act, there will be Americans who can be fired from their job, refused care at a hospital or denied housing because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. It's ludicrous.
We must *never* stop pushing for equal protection under the law for every American — and that's why we're urging you to join us now in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights and freedoms.
If you agree that expanding rights and protections for LGBTQIA+ Americans is a no-brainer, then we're respectfully asking you to show you're part of our big, inclusive, and PROUD grassroots team by signing our petition right now.
Thank you so much!!
Happy Pride! 🌈
John + Gisele Fetterman
