Faith, When I first ran for office, I was fighting my heart out in Massachusetts to defeat one of Wall Street's favorite senators — but I was also keeping a close eye on Wisconsin. That's where Tammy Baldwin — one of the toughest fighters working families could ever ask for — was running an uphill Senate campaign. She got out there, she talked about how we could put government on the side of working people, and she won. So of course, ever since then, powerful special interests and right-wing extremists have been trying to knock her out of the game. They spent millions to try to defeat her in 2018. They're ramping up to try again as she runs for re-election next year. Look: In Wisconsin, races go down to the wire. Progressive champion Russ Feingold lost two heartbreaking Senate races there, Donald Trump eked out a win in 2016, and the terrific Mandela Barnes came up just a hair short in 2022. We can't take anything for granted. We've got to do everything we can to make sure Tammy Baldwin pulls out a victory, and early contributions make the biggest difference to help her plan her campaign. If it makes sense for you right now, Faith, will you split a donation of $15 or any amount between Tammy Baldwin and our re-election campaign? I know that Tammy Baldwin can count on this team for support, and I know that we can always count on her to fight for our values. From lowering the cost of prescription drugs, to promoting Made in America manufacturing, to making marriage equality the law of the land no matter what the Supreme Court has to say about it, Tammy Baldwin takes on tough fights and gets results. She makes a difference, and she's also made history as our nation's first openly gay senator. So this Pride Month, her campaign has a special significance. Back when she was in college, she knew she wanted to dedicate her career to public service, but she was afraid she'd have to choose between that path and living her authentic life openly. After seeing the courage of other members of the LGBTQ+ community who were coming out, she realized she could run for office while being upfront about who she was. And that's exactly what she did. We need to keep her voice in Washington, where she fights and wins for working families and works to protect our freedoms, including the right to an abortion. But this is shaping up to be one of the closest Senate races in the country. And every single donation will go a long way to help get out the vote and get her over the finish line. To help defend our Democratic majority and grow our grassroots movement for bold reform, please split a donation if you can between Tammy Baldwin's re-election campaign and ours today. Thanks for being a part of this, Elizabeth |
