“Independent”

It doesn't mean what you might think it means.

There is a concerted effort to subvert the will of the voters and get Trump re-elected. But where it's coming from might surprise you.

A few groups are organizing to promote an "independent" candidate for president, and the biggest one is "No Labels." But a funny thing is happening here: If you look at their funding, a ton of it comes from right-wing sources — including Harlan Crow, who is Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' billionaire benefactor. And an "independent" candidate? It doesn't mean what you might think it means.

All a third-party candidate will do is split the ticket between people who are voting against Trump — against authoritarian rule and abuse of power — and clear a path for him to retake the White House. That's it.
