Happy Memorial Day, Faith!
I'd like you to meet my grandfather, Lieutenant Commander Donald Fetterman.
My grandfather served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Here's a photo of the ship – the USS Calvert – that he served on:
He was presented with the Bronze Star Medal for his devoted service aboard the USS Calvert. While I never had the honor of meeting him, I try to live up to his example each and every day.
I am grateful to all those who have served and sacrificed for our country. On this Memorial Day – and every day – we honor each of them and their valiant sacrifice.
