Faith, Elon Musk and Donald Trump are now targeting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the watchdog agency tasked with protecting Americans from predatory practices by banks, mortgage companies, debt collectors, and more.
Gutting the CFPB will NOT make our government more efficient. The CFPB is already efficient. According to MSNBC, the agency has a budget of less than $1 billion – and has already returned more than $21 billion to Americans' wallets.
Let's be crystal clear: Elon Musk and Donald Trump are engaging in this illegal power grab because the CFPB hurts the interests of Big Tech and the oligarchy.
No one is arguing that we shouldn't try to make our government more efficient. But destroying agencies like CFPB won't make that happen – instead, it will reward billionaires like Elon Musk and remove protections for regular Americans.
