Faith,
Young Americans deserve leaders who understand the challenges they face: finding affordable housing, confronting the climate crisis, and preventing gun violence. And if we're going to overcome the divisiveness and gridlock that's stopping us from confronting these issues, we need to expand the pool of young people running for office.
That's why I've been excited to support Leaders We Deserve in the work that they're doing to elect more millennial and Gen-Z leaders to Congress and state legislatures across the country.
That work can't happen without critical resources, Faith — and they're entirely grassroots funded. That's why I'm personally reaching out to ask you to make a donation of $5 to Leaders We Deserve right now.
David Hogg and Kevin Lata launched Leaders We Deserve last summer, and they endorsed one of their first candidates, Nadarius Clark, in Virginia. Nadarius won his competitive race last November, and now, at 28, is serving as the state's youngest House Delegate.
On gun violence, student debt, and many more issues, Nadarius has been working to bring renewed attention to the priorities shared by many young Americans. And if Leaders We Deserve succeeds, Nadarius will be the first in a long line of young leaders to come. Just recently in a hearing of the firearms and public safety committee that Nadarius Clark leads, he was able to strike down a bill to arm teachers. This would not have been possible without the one seat majority that Democrats gained with Nadarius's seat this last November.
The work they're doing gives me so much hope that we can build a more fair and more inclusive country. I can't wait to see the wins to come and to lend a helping hand along the way.
But we can't take those wins for granted, Faith. The truth is the work Leaders We Deserve is doing can't happen without funding, and they rely entirely on grassroots donors like you to support their work.
Onward,
Hillary Clinton
