| Happy Independence Day. On July 4th, 1776, the Second Continental Congress gathered at Independence Hall on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia and adopted the Declaration of Independence — thus beginning our democratic experiment and making America a beacon of hope in the world. On days like today, I'm reminded how privileged I am to represent the birthplace of our Nation in the Senate. I love Pennsylvania for many reasons, but as a history enthusiast, our Commonwealth's impact on our country's history takes special meaning. But the fight for our rights laid out in that document is not over. I'm running for re-election to protect voting rights, women's rights, workers' rights, and our very democracy. The Nation we celebrate on July 4th is one where we believe everyone is created equal, and I'll never stop fighting for that. Today, I hope your celebration is filled with family, fun, fireworks, and a little history. Bob Casey Donate ›› |
