Michael Vick

Faith — How long should people who have served their time be held to account for their crimes? It's a question that has followed Michael Vick for 12 years after his involvement in a violent and deadly dog-fighting ring.

The announcement that Michael Vick will be an honorary team captain at this year's Pro Bowl is sparking fierce public debate.

Some believe Michael Vick's crimes cannot be forgiven. In fact – within hours of the breaking news – an animal rescue advocate (and a dog owner herself) launched a petition. So far, more than 200,000 people have signed on asking the NFL to remove Michael Vick as a Pro Bowl captain.

Others disagree. They point to the fact that Michael Vick pleaded guilty, served his time, and has worked hard alongside animal rights groups like the ASPCA and the Humane Society to make up for his crimes. Shawnda believes it's time to forgive, and she wants to see Michael Vick remain as a Pro Bowl captain.
