BIG NEWS: Not only did we hit our $180,000 goal to protect the Frontline Five — the five Democratic senators in the closest races — we blew past it and are set to raise $250,000 to protect these champions for working families and reproductive freedom.
I appreciate everything Team Fetterman does for these folks. Backing all 5 of them is no small feat, because every single one of them REALLY matters.
Here's exactly why each of their races is so close:
💪 Bob Casey (Pennsylvania)
Cook Political Report Rating: Toss-Up
A new poll shows Bob trailing for the first time — but it's by a mere 0.4% despite the fact that Mitch McConnell and Republican outside groups are spending more here in Pennsylvania than Michigan, Wisconsin and Arizona combined. I'll be damned if I let my partner for protecting PA get pushed out by a bunch of out-of-state jagoffs.
🚜 Jon Tester (Montana)
Cook Political Report Rating: Leans Republican
Jon is the only working dirt farmer in the U.S. Senate, and won his first Senate race by just 3,562 votes. 2024 might be his closest yet. Don't let the haters tell you Democrats can't win in places like Montana. Jon has, repeatedly, and dammit we're gonna fight tooth and nail so he does again.
🎲 Jacky Rosen (Nevada)
Cook Political Report Rating: Leans Democratic
The last Senate election in Nevada was decided by just 7,928 votes — or roughly one percent. Donald Trump keeps showing up in the state and Mitch McConnell's Super PAC is spending $6.2 million on ads to defeat Jacky. But I'd never bet against someone who worked as a cocktail waitress at Caesar's Palace to pay her way through college.
🐦 Sherrod Brown (Ohio)
Cook Political Report Rating: Toss-Up
You'll be hard-pressed to find a harder fighter for blue collar workers than Sherrod. Compare that to his jagoff of an opponent who's been accused in lawsuits of not paying his employees overtime. Who DOES that? With $441 million dumped into Ohio, this race is on record to be the most expensive Senate race in the country.
🧀 Tammy Baldwin (Wisconsin)
Cook Political Report Rating: Toss-Up
Seriously, where do Republicans keep finding these rich out-of-staters? Tammy's opponent is the CEO of a multi-billion dollar bank, so he's got deep pockets to buy this seat. But Tammy's tough enough to beat him — you don't become the first openly gay woman elected to the House AND Senate if you aren't tough.
If Democrats don't hold the Senate, there's no chance of passing a national law that protects your reproductive freedom regardless of your zip code.
If Democrats don't hold the Senate, we can't pass legislation that lifts up working families like expanding the child tax credit, increasing financial assistance for first-time home buyers, and paid sick leave for ALL workers.
