Faith, it's Sarah McBride.
Last weekend on Steve Bannon's talk show, Marjorie Taylor Greene described me and my candidacy as a "complete evil" that will "curse" our nation. Not because of my policy agenda. Simply because of who I am.
Believe me, I am no stranger to these kinds of attacks from the MAGA extremists. I was the first transgender state senator in the country, and if Delaware voters elect me this November, I'll become the first-ever openly trans member of Congress.
I expected this from MTG and, believe me, I won't lose sleep over what she thinks of me.
If there's one thing I know for sure, it's this: I'm not running for Congress to pick fights with MAGA Republicans who want to waste the American people's time on personal attacks and manufactured culture wars. I am running because I have a record of getting things done for Delaware — and Congress desperately needs more people who are there for the right reasons, rather than politicians stoking flames of fear and hate. We need serious legislators in Congress, not professional provocateurs.
I'm running to bring my results-driven approach to Washington so we can make progress on the most important issues: affordable health care and housing, paid leave and childcare, gun reform, solutions to the climate crisis, and so much more. That's what this campaign is all about — and we're not going to get distracted by the people who want to divide our country with their agenda of hatred.
These attacks won't stop me from fighting for you. And even extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene won't stop me from bringing people together to deliver for all of us — just like I've done in Delaware.
I'm heartened that Leaders We Deserve, Delaware Democrats, and folks all across the country are united behind this campaign in the face of these attacks.
Thank you, as always, for your love and support.
Sarah McBride
