Faith,
On this day eight years ago, 49 people were murdered at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in what would become the deadliest mass shooting in the United States at that time.
The shooting once again put the spotlight on America's gun violence epidemic and highlighted attacks against the LGBTQ+ community — an increasing number of which have become violent.
In the eight years since, the assault on LGBTQ+ rights has only ramped up.
Across the country, anti-LGBTQ+ lawmakers have advanced and passed several discriminatory bills, including those that target access to gender-affirming care, so-called bathroom bills, and anti-trans sports bans.
And while there is no indication that the current wave of homophobic legislation will end in the short-term, we're more committed than ever before to electing the leaders we deserve — leaders who will advance LGBTQ+ equality, not erase it.
Thank you for reading,
