Faith, this is the kind of headline I love waking up to: Just this week, Democrats flipped a seat in the New Hampshire House -- a R+6 seat at that! -- bringing us one step closer to breaking the GOP's majority there. And in Pennsylvania, we held onto our majority in the state House, adding to a growing list of Democratic election victories this year: -
Florida: Democrat Donna Deegan's win in Jacksonville marked just the second time Democrats have won a mayor's race in the city in the last 30 years. She won by four points in a city that Republican Ron DeSantis won by 11 in 2022. -
Kentucky: Democratic state Senate candidate Cassie Chambers Armstrong won by 54 points in a district that a Democrat won by 23 in 2016. -
Ohio: If passed, Ohio's Issue 1 ballot measure would have raised the threshold to codify the right to an abortion into the state constitution this November. The measure failed by 14 points in a state that Republican JD Vance won by 6 points in 2022. -
Tennessee: Democrat Justin Jones defeated Republican Lauren Nelson by 55 points in a district a Democrat won by 44 in 2020. -
Virginia: Democrat Jennifer McClellan defeated Republican nominee Leon Benjamin by 50 points in a D+16 district. -
Wisconsin: Liberal candidate Janet Protasiewicz won the Wisconsin Supreme Court race by 11 points, outperforming all statewide Democrats' 2022 margins. These aren't just one-off election wins. They prove that our message is resonating with voters -- and that we can't write off any corner of the country. (If you agree and want to keep up our momentum, chip in now!) In Republican-leaning areas and Democratic strongholds alike, people see how Joe and Kamala have delivered for them and their communities. After they were sworn in, Joe and Kamala hit the ground running to pass the American Rescue Plan -- which enabled us to get vaccines out, reopen businesses and schools, and get the pandemic under control. Then, they introduced once-in-a-generation legislation to bring down costs for working people and combat climate change, passed the most significant federal gun safety legislation in decades, and made massive investments in rebuilding and improving our roads, bridges, highways, ports, internet, and railroads. As an American, it makes me proud to know everything that Joe and Kamala have accomplished. And, as their campaign manager, it makes me even prouder to know that voters are recognizing the impact of their work. But we cannot slow down now. We have to continue getting our message out there to ensure that every person knows what Joe and Kamala have accomplished in their first term -- and how a second term can help finish the job. I hope you'll consider pitching in $25 -- or anything you're able -- today so that we can keep building Democratic power from local office to the Oval Office. From the very beginning, this campaign has been made up of thousands of donors all over the country -- folks chipping in a few dollars a time because they believe in President Biden and Vice President Harris' vision for our country and are ready to keep pushing forward for progress. Thank you for being on this team, Faith. -- Julie Julie Chavez Rodriguez Campaign Manager Biden-Harris 2024 |
