Please help us get Winter Track in LCPS funded! This will help our counties schools participate and compete in Winter Track Meets. Winter Track is a big deal for us Runners and we would love it if you could help us out and reach our goal of 500 signatures! We would benefit from Winter Track being funded by: 1) Getting Money from LCPS to get school buses to meets (so students don't have to ride with coaches)  2) Getting Money from LCPS for Track Meets. 3) Getting Money from LCPS to pay the coaches for their commitment in coaching. Right now we DON'T GET ANY MONEY from LCPS. As of right now we are 100% self funded.

3 Key Points for Winter Track to be funded by LCPS are:

1) Winter Track is an excellent training option for athletes of other sports to stay in shape between Fall and Spring seasons. It is proven that when students are engaged in sports all year round their, physical, social and emotional health is better.

2) Athletes who participate in Spring Track have an opportunity to do Winter Track and it is proven that athletes who participate in both Winter and Spring Track are proven faster, stronger, and have more endurance than the athletes who start running in March without a winter season.

3) Without an official LCPS season, schools who do not have parent resources to fund a tier 2 winter season suffer inequitable spring track competition. Winter Track should be available to ALL STUDENTS at ALL SCHOOLS, regardless of financial background. Schools in communities without deep pockets are not able to participate in tier 2 Winter Track, and that is simply not acceptable.
