Amazon received $600 million from the government. Apple got $2.2 billion. Walmart received $2.4 billion.

Donald Trump illegally imposed tariffs on the American people — and they deserve to get their money back.

The Supreme Court ruled that the chaotic tariffs he put in place last year — tariffs that drove up prices and led many companies to raise prices and cost the average family an estimated $2,500 — were illegal. The government is now supposed to return $166 billion in illegally collected tariffs.

Woo-hoo, justice was served! Right?

Well, instead of putting that money back in the hands of the people who paid the price, big corporations are recouping the funds.

Amazon has received $600 million from the government.

Apple? They got $2.2 billion.

Walmart received $2.4 billion.

The list goes on.

The result? Trump's illegal tariffs gave large corporations two big wins: First when they passed those tariff costs along to consumers, and now again through a refund back to the corporations. And working families who paid higher prices are left without a clear way to recover those costs.

That’s why I’m pressing for companies like Apple, Amazon, Walmart, Nike, Target, and others to give the refunds they are receiving directly to consumers.
