Hey, it’s Democrat Rob Sand with a hot take: stealing is bad.
Most of us know that way before the first day of kindergarten. Some people, though, never quite master that concept.
I know those people are out there because I’ve spent my entire career holding them accountable.
➡️ As a prosecutor, I locked up corrupt public officials.
➡️ As Assistant Attorney General, I uncovered the largest lottery scam in American history.
➡️ And as State Auditor, I uncovered record amounts of misspent tax dollars.
Some members of Iowa’s political elite didn’t like me exposing all this corruption, so they passed a law to make my job harder. It didn’t work.
I kept poking and I kept digging. Now I’m running for governor. First thing on my docket: restoring the full power of the next State Auditor, regardless of party. Because accountability is for everyone, regardless of party.
The bottom line is I’ve seen enough corruption firsthand to know there’s something wrong with our system. But I believe we can actually, finally fix it.
