Millions of people across our nation stand to lose their health care, and millions more will face skyrocketing premiums if Republicans allow Affordable Care Act tax credits to expire on Saturday.
They are basically saying to people who are struggling to make ends meet: You can either afford to pay your rent or go see your doctor — but you can't do both.
On the campaign trail, I warned that Donald Trump would threaten coverage for people with preexisting conditions and make health care more expensive for millions of Americans. This is the result of his "concepts of a plan."
The destruction caused by this administration will require some serious work to repair. That doesn't mean nostalgically reproducing what has been done before. The change that we want and the improvement that we need will come from the people.
That is why I am focused on strengthening communities and elevating the next generation of leadership to tackle the deep work we will need to recover. This is not work I or anyone can do alone. I need you with me, Faith.
Do not lose sight of what we can rebuild together. Thank you for staying engaged in the fight for this country we love.
