In just a moment, we are going to ask you to donate directly to the Democratic National Committee before tomorrow night's debate begins and our FEC deadline ends. Please give us a chance to explain why this request is so important.

Here is the truth:

This is a moment in the race where three critical, but unique, moments collide. And all of them require our attention and your financial support.

First, we will need the resources to be able to respond to anything that happens in the debate tomorrow night. We know Republicans will be ready, and we need to be as well.

Second, as you read this, the first ballots of the election are dropping in mailboxes across several states. People are voting! And we are running out of time to reach them before they do.

Finally, during the homestretch of presidential years, our official FEC deadlines happen every month. That means shortly after this debate we'll have another one right around the corner.

And this one is especially important. It will be the last one before much of the country is eligible to vote.

So we're hoping for a big report. And at the same time, we also need to reach our very real fundraising goals for the month. And we need you for both.
