In 2020, Democrats held a polling advantage headed into the fall. Democratic Senate candidates in states like Iowa, North Carolina, and Maine were all favored to win, putting us on the path to a huge Senate majority.
But instead, Republicans in Iowa, North Carolina, and Maine defeated their Democratic challengers, and instead of a strong majority, the Senate was tied.
This year is starting to feel eerily similar. Polls are once again trending in our direction, and Democrats are feeling inspired and more confident, but we can't afford to be complacent.
While the polls may show Democrats in the lead, we know this election will come down to only a handful of votes. With workers' rights, women's rights, and voting rights all on the line, we can't afford to take our foot off the gas now.
We have the chance to win back the House, defend our Senate majority, and elect Kamala Harris as the first woman president. And folks, that's the only way we'll be able to codify abortion rights into law, pass the PRO Act, raise the minimum wage, and so much more.
