If you watched the DNC last week, you probably noticed a lot of the speakers bringing out a big copy of Project 2025 and talking about what's in it, Faith.
Gov. Jared Polis of Colorado even ripped out a page to take back home and show his constituents how dangerous this plan is. You truly have to see it to believe it!
One of our favorite moments, though, was when Saturday Night Live comedian (and former star of All That, Kenan & Kel, and Goodburger) Kenan Thompson took the stage to interview attendees about how they'd be impacted by Project 2025.
Project 2025 is Republicans' blueprint for Donald Trump's second term – and it's LONG and very detailed. Like Kenan said last week, this plan – printed into a giant, oversized book – could kill both democracy and a small animal at the same time.
Kenan interviewed folks like Becky – a woman who has been married to her wife for about eight years. Unfortunately, Kenan had some bad news for Becky: Project 2025 calls for the ELIMINATION of protections for LGBTQ+ Americans. 😡😡😡
Next, Kenan talked to Nirvana, a woman who only pays $35 per month for insulin to manage her diabetes, thanks to President Biden and Vice President Harris. 🎉
Once again, Kenan pointed out how the GOP agenda would set us back: Project 2025 calls for Americans to PAY MORE for their life-saving prescription drugs.
Kenan also talked about Project 2025 with Anita, an ob-gyn who delivers babies and performs surgery. "Uh oh," Kenan said – Project 2025 calls for resurrecting the Comstock Act, a law from the 1800s that would ban abortion nationwide and throw reproductive healthcare providers IN JAIL. Absolutely enraging stuff.
Finally, Kenan talked to Sharia, a proud civil servant who works in the Department of Education. There isn't any good news for her in the GOP's plan either – Project 2025 calls for purging the federal government of anyone who isn't a MAGA loyalist AND calls for the TOTAL ELIMINATION of the Department of Education!
Kenan said it best at the end of his segment: We all have the responsibility to learn more about Project 2025 and just how dangerous and ridiculous it really is. And most importantly, it's on all of us to stop it by electing Kamala Harris as POTUS. 🇺🇸
But we can't stop there, Faith. Leaders We Deserve is working around the clock to send young, bold progressives to state legislatures and Congress in November. These are the folks we need on the frontlines fighting to defeat Project 2025 and the dangerous vision that the MAGA movement is working to achieve in America.
