Democrats have accomplished a great deal even with our tenuous 50-50 majority. But just imagine what more we can do with a working majority that won't let the filibuster stand in the way. We can save reproductive freedom, be bolder about confronting the climate crisis and do more to stop gun violence.
We can achieve that by flipping Florida blue – and political experts from CNN are saying this race is one of Democrats' best pickup opportunities. I'm in this to win, Faith, and expand our majority – and three recent polls have shown that I'm in a position to do just that.
But I simply cannot accomplish all that without resources. Marco Rubio is already spending millions on vicious attack ads to defeat me, and Mitch McConnell is equipped with a war chest of more than $106million to boost Rubio's efforts. So missing this match goal, when every donation is being doubled, will put our solid chance at flipping Florida blue at serious risk.
