Marvin, also known as The Mayor of Queens Shops, The Mayor of Queens' Marketplace, The Queens Shops Greeter, The Waikoloa Starbucks Cat, The Queens Shop Mascot, is being evicted by management. Marvin is a beloved fixture at Queens Shops. He has friends and fans literally all over the world who follow him on Facebook and Instagram. Marvin was born in the parking lot and made his way into the mall and into the hearts of everyone in the mall, employees, customers, tourists….everyone loves him. Marvin is about 4 years old and has never lived anywhere else. Queens Shops is home to him. The people he sees every day are his family. He's safe from cars, mean people, aggressive dogs and even aggressive other cats. He's not a nuisance. He knows where he's welcome and where he's not. One clothing store doesn't want him to come in, understandably, not everyone wants the possibility of cat hair on their clothes. If he comes to the door they just say no Marvin and shoo him away. He's no maintenance, low energy, easy going and laid back, a bright spot in so many people's day, he brings a smile to everyone's face. Not to mention, he's totally deaf in one ear. The big world outside of the mall is a very dangerous place for a deaf animal.
For Marvin to be put into a kennel at a shelter would be cruel. Taking him home could be a challenging transition. If he were to escape from a strange home, anywhere on the island, he'd do whatever it takes to find his way back to Queens Shops, and more than likely get killed on the road.
Marvin needs to be allowed to stay in his home. Let's show the owner and management of Queens Shops that we love and support Marvin !!
Let Marvin Stay!
