The words "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" have long been associated with the American postal worker.
Donald Trump is purposely sabotaging the United States Postal Service (USPS). As sacred as the 1st Amendment - as cherished by our country as freedom of religion - as critical to freedom as the Constitution, Donald Trump's latest appointee, Louis DeJoy, is purposely tearing down the United States Postal Service. He's given instructions for hours to be slashed, mail to be left behind and routes to go unfilled.
Our postal employees are sickened by the virus while ensuring older Americans receive their social security benefits. They deliver affordable medicines to the elderly and the disabled. They ensure rural Americans receive food and other important supplies where no other service will deliver. The USPS employees are part of the life blood of America. They're heroes and they should be treated as such. The USPS should be treated with reverence. Instead, Trump and Louis DeJoy are tearing it and American lives apart.
The USPS is critical to cities and rural communities alike. Whether Democrat, Republican or Independent, Americans rely on the postal service for paychecks, medicine and other critical correspondence. As with the virus, Donald Trump doesn't care if mail vital to American survival arrives. Trump only cares about himself. It's not about what's best for America. It's all about Donald Trump trampling on the lives of American citizens.
Tell Congress to remove the power to appoint the Postmaster General from partisan hands. The post office is too important to American lives and American democracy to be decided by any one party.
Free the post office from politics and restore an independent, non-partisan postmaster general to lead this fundamental part of our democracy.
REMOVE LOUIS DEJOY TODAY!
